How to Install Professional Series Bath Accessories

The Professional series is designed to fit in a space between ceramic tiles. When installing the
field tiles, a piece or pieces of tile are left out so the slight recess in the back of the accessory
can make contact with the wall. A typical tub soap dish requires the removal of 1 ½  - 4” x 4”
tiles.  We recommend un-sanded grout in the same color you are using for the walls. Mix the
grout to the consistency of mashed potatoes and apply a generous quantity to the wall space
and onto the back of the piece. A few holes in the sheetrock or backerboard will increase the
holding power of the grout and allow it to connect to the wall. Place the piece in the opening
and apply some pressure with a slight wiggling motion. Some grout will squeeze out, simply
clean around the edge. Tape to wall with duct tape. After the grout dries completely, caulk
around the edge with a good quality bath and tile caulk. Many installers find success with
modified Thin-set in place of grout.
